DEIXIS IN OUR DAILY LIFE

            People have their own daily activity. I have my own daily life. Everyday I produce many utterances. Every status of people has different utterances that produced by them. A student usually produces utterances so does a lecture. And the utterances that are produced by people contain of deixis. There are three deixis that usually produced by people in their daily life, these are person deixis, time deixis, and place deixis.

            In our daily life ofcourse we produce utterances to communicate with another people. Person deixis is the common utterance that is usually produced in our daily life. Mereka sudah mengumpulkan tugas hari ini. The subject mereka can be student of elementary school if the utterance is produced by a teacher of elementary school. But the subject mereka can be student of university if the utterance is stated by a lecture. Depend on who is the producer of the utterance.

            People in Madura also produce kind of deixis in their daily life. Here is another example of deixis that is stated by them. Engkok ngakan bik kok ajem berik. In this utterance there is adverb of time berik. The meaning of  berik is yesterday. Berik can be on Tuesday if the utterance is produced on Wednesday. But berik can be on Saturday if the utterance is produced on Sunday. The meaning of berik is according when is the utterance is produced.

            Place deixis also produces in people’s daily life. A student states I find my book here. The words here refers to the location where is the utterance is produced. The location of here can be in the class if the utterance produces in the class. But it can be in the restaurant if the utterance is produced in restaurant.

            I can conclude that whoever can produce deictic expression in their daily life. People in Madura can produce utterances that are containing deictic expression whether it depends on who, where and when is the utterances are produced so do another people.And deixis that can be produced are person deixis, place deixis, and time deixis.

DISCRIMINATION

DISCRIMINATION

                   Everyone in the world has equal right. People live need some satisfied. Everything they do to get the satisfied include discriminate each other. Discrimination is something like a service without any justice to some people. In some resources  says that discrimination is

“treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination”.

Usually people that discriminate by each other feel annoyed. They Can’t do everything they want. They do anything with limitation. It is really there’s no any justice. There are many kinds of discrimination, these are Age Discrimination, Health Discrimination, Race Discrimination, Religion Discrimination. Discriminate black people is interesting by White people, But I’m sure there are more disadvantages for discriminating black people.

                   White people was really authoritative at that time. Mr Xing Yin write in his blog that

 “Blacks began to be traded to the U.S. since the year 1607 to be made slaves until it was banned in 1807. Also after Abraham Lincon against slavery in America Inaugurates became president in 1860”.

 White people felt Satisfied at that time. Because they can do everything to the black people. There’s no justice and right for black people. What A pity blacks at that time. The blacks was so terrible. Until now, citizens of the black race in America still discriminate behavior by citizens of the white race. Even with the inclusion of a black man in the White House, but the condition of millions of black people in America did not change much. It is seen by many blacks still living in poverty and the number of black people who are unemployed.

Among the countries in the world, there is no history of slavery and the oddest related discrimination that occurred in the United States. True, South Africa during the years of Apartheid policy. But now the system has been removed in this country. While in America, the system of slavery was removed. But the fact is, until now millions of black Americans are discriminated again. This problem is rooted in the spirit of discrimination that have plunged in among the American public. I Think discrimination in America can’t be removed without any aware from white people.

                   I can conclude that discrimination is natural but it should be banned. In our religion actually moslem forbid us to do discrimination. Discrimination only make another people feel sad. In my opinion everything that make very much disadvantages for another people should be banned. I really disagree with discrimination.

            The topic that discussed in this article is about deixis found in ‘Ayat-Ayat Cinta’ Novel . She  concerned deixis  persona,  space,  time,  discourse,  and social contained in the Ayat- Ayat Cinta novel (p. 59). Rosmawati said ‘this research  can contribute  the  importance  of  understanding  and  preserving  literature  through  language,  especially  for  the  next generation  so  that  the  value  of  emotions  which  contained  in  the  language  will  be  resolved (p.57).’ This is  supported by (Jayasudarma, 1994 : 59),  (Sumarno,  1987:  10), Lyons (1995:  270), Suyono (1990:12). Rosmawati claims that The complexity  of  deictic  problems  in  this  discourse  that  encourages  her to conducted  a  study  on  the  use  deixis  in literary  discourse (p. 59).

            Her study aimed to describe the kind of deixis on ‘Ayat-Ayat Cinta’ Novel. Theoretically, this study is expected to be useful for researchers of language and literature because the novel has its own peculiarities (p.57). A word is said to be deixis if its reference or referral/reference moving or  changing  depending  on  who  the  speaker  and  it  depends  on  the  time  and  place  of  the  word spoken, Suyono (1990:12). According  Noerhadi (1982: 27),  which  need  to  be  understood  from  the  above  chart  is  differentiation-concrete  physical objects, then  lingual region  or language  where  every  word can be broken  down into  elements of visual-auditory (letters and sounds). By use these theories Rosmawati  concerned deixis  persona,  space,  time,  discourse,  and social contained in the Ayat- Ayat Cinta novel (p. 59).
